As the twisted web unravels, Lin heads home to the village. Disappointed that he once again put his trust in the wrong peoplw, he goes to find the one person he can always rely on: Prabhu. Parvati is unhappy Prabhu was involved in Lin’s trouble with Rahim, and reminds him he is not like Khader’s crew just as Lin arrives home. The two share some regrets and truths, before Lin prepares to leave.
Madame Zhou finds out Karla took Sunita straight to Kavita, and tells Maurizio he was a fool to trust any of them. She has her assistant call Walid Shah, intending to tell him what Karla and Khader are up to. Meanwhile, Kavita confronts Minister Pandey in the street. She shows him the photos she has and name drops Sunita.
Karla and Abdullah meet with Khader. She tells him the story she has provided to Kavita will frame Madame Zhou and Walid for murder and blackmail, leaving the village open for the taking by Khader. But Khader is unhappy he did not know of her plans, and accuses her of exacting revenge on Madame Zhou for the deaths of Ahmed and Christina. Karla is honest and says she did it for Lin, which surprises Khader. He tells her love is a chain with a handcuff on both ends – and to stop Kavita’s story. She refuses, and Khader is furious. Khader demands the Abdullah get Lin for him.
While he’s waiting for Didier to come through with his passport, Lin is helping install water pipes in the village. Didier calls his supplier, but Lin’s passport is still not ready. It may be too late, as the Australian sergeant is getting closer to finding Lin. As Didier gets off the phone at the café, a police officer summons him down to the station.
Abdullah finds Lin digging ditches in the village. He knows Khader has summoned him, and leaves with Abdullah willingly. Lin accuses Khader of using him and tells Khader he’s done. But, Khader needs Lin to convince Karla to get Kavita’s story dropped – or her life will be in danger. So Khader is using his feelings for Karla to manipulate him into doing his bidding – again. He also throws in a sweetener: A shiny new passport.
Madame Zhou finds Walid Shah and informs him Khader plans to expose his business with Pandey, along with Karla’s plans to use Sunita to expose everything via the media. Walid is happy Zhou “chose the right side” and offers her something in return – along with her life.
Poor Didier is in a jail cell once again, and the Australian sergeant questions him on the whereabouts of Lin. Didier claims he barely knows Lin, but clearly fears being beaten by police again or worse: jail time. He still refuses to give Lin up, and is saved when another officer comes to inform the sergeant that Lin has been doctoring in the village. They decide to let Didier go, but with a tail to hopefully lead them straight to Lin.
Lin shows up to Karla’s place to beg her to kill her deal with Kavita. What Karla is doing is going to start a war, according to Khader. Lin tells Karla about the passport deal Khader offered him, and that he didn’t take it – but he still shows up to ask her to stop the story anyway, as he doesn’t want her to be in danger once he is gone. Lisa, ever the voice of reason, tells Karla and Lin to move past the bullshit and get it together. I cheered! Karla asks Lin to stay.
Walid outlines his plan of attack to his crew. He plans to go after every aspect of Khader’s business. Walid’s men bash Pandey just as he’s loading suitcases in his car, ready to run. The Walid vs Khader war is upon us as a man fires at Khader’s car, but Abdullah subdues the attacker. Men then show up to the village to attack the water lines Khader is providing.
Didier returns to the café, aware of the men following him. He slips out the back of the café and runs for his life, making it to Lin in the village to inform him of the sergeant looking for him. Lin tells Didier that Khader is holding his passport, so he can’t run. Lin asks Didier if he knew about Karla working with Khader, and he confesses he did. Just as he’s about to leave the village, wounded men start showing up from the fight needing treatment.
Kavita’s story is ready to print. Her editor is thrilled and promises her the front page. He asks her if she’s sure she’s ready, as there is no turning back once the story is out there. Kavita confirms she is, and I hope she doesn’t lose her life in the process.
As Lin and Parvati stitch up the wounded, the Australian sergeant arrives at the village. Lin’s friends take off to warn him before the sergeant reaches his home. Lin is forced to decide between saving Qasim’s life or running, and chooses Qasim. They move him from Lin’s place, hoping to hide within the village a little longer.
Sebastian arrives at Karla’s house to see Lisa. The pair are leaving, and Lisa wants Karla to come with them but she refuses, seemingly waiting for her world to implode around her. As they are about to leave, Maurizio arrives with Walid’s men and demands to know where the money is. He threatens to shoot Lisa in the head, and Madame Zhou’s assistant says they need to leave. Sebastian doesn’t give up the location of the money, so Maurizio shoots him. Karla screams that Lisa doesn’t know where the money is – and now Maurizio has killed the only person that did.
Lin needs to do surgery to save Qasim’s life and relieve the pressure on his brain. He and Parvati do the best they can with their limited resources. Prabhu does his best to distract the police and send them in the wrong direction, buying Qasim time. Prabhu takes punches from the police to protect Lin and even when threatened with a glass bottle, he still does not give in.
Ravi finds out where Lin is treating Qasim and goes straight to the police to rat Lin out. I understand why he did it but by doing so, he may have cost Qasim his life. A man warns Lin the police are near, and he steps outside to come face to face with the sergeant. A chase through the village begins, but Lin has the advantage of knowing the area. He makes it to the road and Prabhu pulls up in the getaway taxi. Wow, what an end to this episode! Can’t wait for the finale next week.
