"4-5-1," sees Zava becoming an official member of AFC Richmond. With the addition of their new teammate's incredible skills on the field, the Greyhounds' concerns about being relegated disappear as they embark on a victorious run. Additionally, viewers gain insight into Colin's character and are privy to a secret that Michelle has been concealing from Ted, which he stumbles upon accidentally.
In a previous season, Colin made a passing reference to the dating app Grindr, causing fans to speculate whether it was an inconsequential remark or a subtle clue about his sexuality. The latest episode brings us back to that moment as we witness him waking up and heading downstairs to meet a man he had spent the previous evening with. While declining coffee, the football player bids farewell to his companion with a kiss and drives off in his luxurious car, reminding himself of his strength and capability. However, his graceful departure is marred by a comedic mishap as he collides with the trash cans in his driveway.
Fans eagerly anticipate Zava's arrival at the Richmond stadium, evident from the signs that adorn the venue. Meanwhile, Ted, Beard, and Roy grapple with the task of rearranging their starting lineup to accommodate the new player, and somehow their conversation turns to a shared admiration for Julie Andrews.
In the locker room, the Greyhounds marvel at Zava's new corner, which boasts a television screen and a posh chair, and Dani recalls a romantic moment with Zava boots. Jamie arrives to find his locker replaced, and the team moves outside. Rebecca seeks Higgins' guidance on the team's signature, and he rushes to confirm the legal validity of an e-signature. Keeley instructs Shandy to sell merchandise at concessions, with a reminder to keep her shirt on. Higgins returns with the news that the signature is binding, but the problem is that Zava signed it with the phrase "You're welcome" instead of his name.
Rebecca, Ted, and Keeley hurry to find a solution, while Higgins tries to keep the audience entertained on stage. Frustrated, Rebecca vents her anger, calling Zava a self-absorbed jerk, only to find him sitting at her desk, surrounded by biscuit crumbs. Despite their two-hour wait, Zava believes time is a human invention. After a forehead touch with Higgins, he heads downstairs to meet the team in the locker room.
The Greyhounds are awestruck as Zava enters, with the exception of Jamie. Zava addresses the kit man first and leads the team in a breathing exercise, leaving them gasping for air. Jamie is visibly unimpressed, while Zava adjusts the team's diagram in the coaches' office, placing himself as the only forward and everyone else on defense. He leaves abruptly before further discussion can take place.
Rebecca reluctantly follows her mother's suggestion to visit a psychic named Tish. She approaches the experience with sarcasm and skepticism, and is further put off by Tish's visions of a green matchbook and a "shite in nining armor." When Tish predicts that Rebecca will become a mother, she becomes enraged and storms out.
Upon entering the coaches' office, Jamie voices his opinion that Zava is a self-absorbed glory hunter who only cares about himself. Despite the irony of the statement coming from Jamie, who is known for his own ego-driven behavior, he attempts to persuade Ted, Beard, and Roy that the Greyhounds are better off without Zava. (They wouldn't be.)
Prior to hitting the field, Ted needs to call Henry, but his phone is back at his apartment, so he must use the landline. However, he realizes he no longer remembers Michelle’s mobile number by heart. Across the world in Kansas, a man named Jake is in Michelle’s kitchen. Believing only a telemarketer would call the landline, he answers the phone pretending to be Trump. Nevertheless, Ted takes the joke in stride and continues the conversation. Jake promptly drops the act and reveals himself as Dr. Jacob. Ted is bewildered as to why he’s at Michelle’s. When Michelle learns that Ted is on the phone, her face falls. After wishing Henry good luck in his match, Michelle takes the receiver back, saying they need to talk more later. Later, Ted can’t help but look at Jake’s Facebook profile and discovers that he and Michelle attended marriage counseling with him. This really hurts Ted, who feels betrayed that a man that was meant to be helping them with their marriage issues is now dating his ex-wife.
Ted struggles with a panic attack as the game begins, but things get off to a good start when Zava scores a goal from the halfway line. Dani jumps on his back and the crowd goes wild. With Zava's incredible skills, the Greyhounds win six games and find themselves in third place as the season progresses. Zava's Richmond merchandise sells out and the team, excluding Jamie, joins him in locker room meditations. There is a moment where Jamie nearly scores his first goal of the season, but Zava swoops in to steal it at the last second. No longer the team star, Jamie is feeling very left out.
Sam invites the team to a pre-opening celebration at his new restaurant, and Colin brings Michael along, introducing him as his friend. Sassy also joins the festivities, immediately setting her sights on Ted. Meanwhile, Roy notices Jamie sitting alone and bluntly tells him that he could still be the team's best player if he wasn't such a prima donna. Jamie expresses his desire to be better than Zava, and Roy offers to train him. Later, Sam surprises everyone with green matchbooks - much to Rebecca's surprise.
As Trent leaves the gathering, he spots Colin and Michael kissing. This is set up like it could be an issue later, but I don't think Trent would out Colin for a headline - or would he? I hope not.
