Recap: Succession - Season 4, Episode 6

In the opening scene of the sixth episode, a rough cut of an old video is shown featuring Logan Roy talking about Waystar's latest project, Living+, a luxurious real estate venture. The video concludes with Logan belittling his children, but Kendall appears to be motivated by it as he prepares for the launch event. Meanwhile, Shiv is visited by Lukas Matsson on her private jet, who informs her about Kendall and Roman's aggressive behavior towards him during their negotiation. Matsson tries to recruit Shiv to his side, but she declines to betray her brothers. Later, during a management meeting, Kendall and Roman express their reservations about selling to Matsson, citing his unstable behavior.

Following the departure of the executives, Shiv confronts her brothers for excluding her from crucial discussions. She is unhappy about Kendall and Roman's attempts to sabotage the sale of Waystar RoyCo. However, Kendall and Roman apologize to Shiv, and the three siblings reconcile with a hug. Later, Shiv seeks solace in a meeting room to process her emotions but encounters Tom, who discovers her in tears. Tom comforts Shiv as she grieves over the loss of Logan. Meanwhile, Kendall and Roman, also known as the CE-Bros, strategize for the launch event. Kendall proposes a plan to price Matsson out of the deal to purchase Waystar by elevating the valuation of Living+ and promoting it as tech.

Kendall concentrates on inflating the revenue projections for their new product, while Roman attends a meeting with Joy, the Studio Head of Waystar Studios. Roman demands an explanation for the disorderly production of 'Kalispitron: Hibernation,' which has exceeded its budget. Joy assures Roman that the film will generate profits, but he insists on holding someone accountable for the mishap. Joy urges Roman to tone down the favorable coverage of Presidential candidate Jeryd Mencken, as it is repelling potential partners from working with the studio. However, when Joy compares Roman to his father, he terminates her employment immediately.

Meanwhile, Kendall becomes overly obsessed with the revenue projections for Living+ and the launch event preparations. Shiv and Tom gradually reconcile, and Kendall enthusiastically describes the forecast for Living+. However, Gerri confronts Roman about firing Joy, and when she compares him to Logan, he also fires her. This fight between Gerri and Roman was an episode highlight for me, and Roman instantly panics and regrets his decision. However, Kendall supports Roman as it showcases their authority as co-CEOs and the daring direction they are taking the company in.

Shiv maintains communication with Matsson to keep her choices open. However, Matsson shows no interest in Living+ and considers it a drawback. Prior to the launch, Kendall exaggerates the numbers significantly, causing everyone, including Roman and Shiv, to doubt his vision. They all anticipate Kendall's presentation to fail miserably. At the last minute, Roman withdraws from the presentation, refusing to partake in the catastrophic launch event. Karl confronts Kendall regarding the business projections with a warning, but Kendall assures him that his plan is feasible.

At Investor's Day Kendall unveils Living+, but he has inflated the business projections excessively to pressure Matsson into backing out of the deal. During his presentation, everyone anticipates Kendall to buckle under the stress, as he has done previously. Additionally, Kendall commences his presentation weakly and relies on Logan's unused footage to maintain the audience's interest in his plans. Consequently, all the executives begin to worry that Living+ will fail miserably as soon as it is launched. However, when Kendall reveals his vision, it somewhat impresses the audience.

Kendall's plan aims to make Living+ the country's best residential complex, bolstered by all other Waystar brands. In addition, Kendall guarantees access to cutting-edge technology that will boost life expectancy and provide other benefits, allowing Living+ subscribers to spend more time with their loved ones. Kendall concludes the presentation with an emotional statement about missing his father and upholding his legacy. The overall response to Kendall's presentation is favorable, and it quickly becomes a trending topic on Twitter. However, Matsson responds to Kendall's presentation with a Holocaust joke.

Kendall faces inquiries about Matsson's offensive tweet and is once again put under pressure. Nevertheless, Kendall handles the situation with tact and earns some praise. When Kendall's presentation wraps up, everyone is impressed by his vision. Furthermore, Matsson deletes the derogatory tweet. The Waystar executives laud Kendall, thrilled by Living+'s potential. Nonetheless, the episode concludes with Shiv going to a meeting with Matsson, accompanied by Tom, suggesting that she may be considering switching allegiances. Nonetheless, the episode concludes on a victorious note for Kendall as he demonstrates his competence as a leader.

Roman, meanwhile, breaks down on his way home from the presentation. His anger and grief is finally catching up with him. Kendall celebrates his presentation by taking a swim in the sea.
